Film Actress Pooja Umashankar


Pooja Gauthami Umashankar,anonymously known as Pooja is an Indian-Sri Lankan actress, who has primarily appeared in Tamil films as well as Sinhala, Malayalam and amateur films.She simultaneously appeared in several commercial successes in Sinhala Cinema like Anjalika (2006), Asai Man Piyabanna (2007), Suwanda Denuna Jeewithe (2010) and Kusa Pabha (2012), thus establishing herself as one of the leading actresses of Sinhala cinema. Her big-budget film Kusa Pabha released in early 2012 and became the highest grosser ever in the history of Sri Lankan film industry. Critics praised Pooja for her role of Pabawathi.
What are your future plans? What is your most memorable experience?
I leave future to whatever it is. You don’t know what is install for you. Might be I will do business or might do films for more time or might be I will get married and just settle down, I don’t know.
My memorable experience was my first film which I can never forget. Everything was new to me, greek and latin. Lights, camera, Action…all new…. I never knew this would be my career…
