HSBC Colombo Fashion Week (HSBC CFW)
the backbone of Sri Lanka’s fashion design industry celebrates its 11th
year; this year they will concentrate on further developing young
designers by creating CFW days at universities, an initiative which
started in December 2013, which leads them into the Bright Spark Shows
during CFW. Other areas of focus include creating new retail formats to
develop fashion retail and will work closely with National Crafts
Council in creating a program called Crafts in Fashion.
The focus on
above three areas will further the cause of developing fashion in Sri
Lanka, which has been the singular objective behind the existence of
Colombo Fashion Week. HSBC CFW in the last decade has groomed, mentored,
exposed Sri Lankan designers and given them a platform to showcase
their designs to be recognized in Sri Lanka and overseas. This vision to
put Sri Lanka on international fashion map drives CFW and its
management.
The main shows are on the 6, 7 and 8 February, 2014.
